The Use of Wood Plastic Composite Material in Various Countries
As currently envisaged, the Chinese wood plastic composite material according to the basic raw materials can be divided into two main types:
One kind is polyolefin-based WPC decking composite materials, which are mainly based on polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP). HDPE is more widely used in China. Wood deck and rice husk powder are mainly used as a modified reinforcing agent for wood fiber, and powder materials made from bamboo, wheat straw, cotton stalk, bagasse and coconut shell are also developed according to local conditions. Recently, it was reported that the waste reed was successfully used to make powder, giving full play to the characteristics of comprehensive utilization of resources.
Another kind is polyvinyl chloride (PVC) composite deck materials, which PVC plastic generally use new materials, also mixed with a small amount of recycled materials. Less wood fiber is added. Because the proportion of PVC deck plastic is large, it is generally micro – foam treatment.

The Usage of Wood Plastic Composite Decking Basic Materials
The use of basic materials of WPC in China is similar to that in North America. Japan, which used to use mostly new plastics material, is increasingly using recycled materials and has strict requirements on the composition and purity of recycled materials. The Use of Wood Plastic Composite Material Products in Europe
The use of plastic base materials in Europe is quite different from that in China. Since WPC was widely used in automobile interior decoration at the beginning, most plastics in Europe were polypropylene (PP). In 2005, PP accounted for 82%, polyethylene (PE) accounted for 10%, and PVC only accounted for 8%. By 2010, the share of PVC has increased to 20%, while PP has shrunk to about 70%. By 2012, after several years of market development, WPC decking in Europe was widely used in paving boards and fences. Because PE was cheaper and it was easier to get recycled PE than recycled PP, the share of PE increased to 32%, PVC to 28%, and PP to 40%. But in the injection molding of PP – based products still accounted for 93%.
